Fuel Power Party 2022 FAQ

Updated: Jul 14, 2022

Hello! So two things have happened if you have found your way here:

1) We have finally been able to tell you about our party!!

2) You have a question that just needs answering!

We did a lot of talking in our video and hopefully sold the event to you (can't wait to see you if you have booked in!) but there may still be a question we didn't manage to answer, therefore we have created this page to hopefully do that!

Is the Fuel Power Party 2022 free to attend?

Yes, the party will be free to attend! You will however need to book your place as we have been given a limit by the museum. We will also have a donation box where all donations will be going to the museum! Just remember entry to the museum will incur a cost depending on the ticket you have purchased.

Is the Party inside or outside?

The party will be outside on the overflow car park field. The grass is kept tidy and short so if your car is low there shouldn't be a problem. If your car likes to sweat power, please consider bringing a drip tray with you to keep the field clean.

What vehicle can I bring to the party?

From pushbikes to cars and tractors to vans anything goes, we aren't fussy! The quirkier, the better but whether its classic or modern, everything is welcome!

Is the museum open on the day?

Yes, It will be open from 10am! Please head into the museum to learn more about the planes and helicopters and to support the museum and its conservation of these vehicles. Tickets can be found and booked here. We advise booking in advance to avoid disappointment!

Is there a discount for museum entry?

We are currently discussing this with the Museum team and will update this as and when we know more! Keep an eye on socials as well as we will continue to update those too!

Is the café open on the day?

Yes, the Apache café will be open on the day of the event serving a limited menu of hot food and offering cold drinks and sandwiches if we are to be blessed with some hot weather! However, if you would rather bring your own lunch/snacks you are welcome to eat these on the Party site too!

Where are the toilets?

There are toilets located all around the site, some under the café (around the back of the museum). There are also some in the museum itself.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes, you can bring your dog to the party, they are allowed on site but only assistance dogs are allowed in the museum. You will be expected to clear up after them and keep them on a lead.

Can I bring the family?

Yes! Please do, the museum is perfect for anyone of any age! We will also be holding a colouring competition, perfect for any budding artists!

Can I film the event?

Yes, filming of the event is welcome but we ask three things:

1) Please do not use drones to film anywhere on site as it is a working military airfield.

2) Reviews and walkarounds of cars can be organised on the day but we ask that they are filmed at a later date to reduce unnecessary traffic movement on the day.

3) We will also be filming so ask that any videos you film are uploaded to YouTube after ours, which will be going live 6pm on Friday 16th September (the Friday after the event)

Can I charge my electric car on site?

Unfortunately not at the museum, however the nearest charging points are located at 'The White Hart' in Stockbridge (SO20 6HF), 'Thyme and Tides' in Firsdown (SP5 1ST) or there are a large number of charging points in Salisbury and Andover.

Can I camp on site?

Nope, unfortunately, there is no camping allowed on site for this years party, however we have found some places you may wish to look into if you do need/want to make a weekend adventure of it!

Salisbury Hillside (SP5 1BY), this is a caravan club site but can be booked by non-members, which is a 3 minute drive from the museum.

Rowbury Farm Camping (SP11 7SD), this is a little bit more 'back to basics' but perfect for a night! It is slightly further away but still only a ten minute drive!

Premier Inn Salisbury North Bishopdown (SP1 3GU), basic but clean and comfy! Little bit further out of the city and everything it has to offer but one of the cheapest options in Salisbury. Approximately a 15 minute drive to the museum.

Premier Inn Andover (SP10 3UX) again, what you would expect from a Premier Inn but easy to find and near lots of local amenities. Could be better for those of you coming from the east! Its also about 15 minutes from the museum.

Premier Inn Southampton Airport (SO18 2XU) sticking at a similar price point to the others and a bit further afield but could be a good option if you are coming over from the Isle of Wight or along the coast! Approximately a 40 minute drive but could easily be quicker on a Sunday morning!

Where is the nearest fuel station?

There is a Murco approximately quarter of a mile up the road heading towards Andover and a Pace about the same distance from the museum heading towards Salisbury. Both of these are on the same road as the museum.

Worth noting: We believe both stations only sell E10, if you need E5 we would recommend looking at a fuel station in either Andover or Salisbury itself.

And finally, if there is anything that we haven't answered please don't hesitate to contact us directly via the YouTube comments or on Social Media! We will be updating you as the party gets closer with any additional information that we have so keep an eye on those too! We can't wait to see as many of you as possible! It will, fingers crossed be a great day!

For now, we have some serious planning to do!
