If you were watching the channel back in February, you will have seen a video all about this wonderful (and huge) car.
This goliath of a car, as Jake very correctly described it, belongs to my dad and has been in my life for around six years. Dad has always been into cars, so when I told him about the Fuel Power venture at the end of last year, he was very pleased to know his only child was going 'into the car industry', even if it is only to write about them on the odd occasion. Dad was also very keen to have his car reviewed as he is very proud of 'Murray' and all the work he has put into it so we thought why not celebrate his birthday at the start of February and take his car for a spin... he was a little apprehensive to wave Jake and I off as we embarked on a journey across the Hampshire countryside to film it and drive it about for a few hours, but he was very much looking forward to watching the video and thankful he didn't have to wait to long... and, I must say, so were my mum and I as he asked possibly every day, if I knew when it was going live...
You might be wondering why, when the video covered it so well, am I also writing about the Disco, but I wanted to just share with you a sort of interview with my dad, and sort of the car to accompany the review because, as we all know, I am much more a people person, than a car person! So, as I spend most of my time working and living with my Dad, he seemed like the perfect guinea pig for this idea... shall I just stop wittering and get on with it? Yes, I think so too!

Who are you and how long have you been into cars?
"My name is Ian and I have been interested in cars since I was a young boy. Many of my hobbies were something to do with cars or bicycles in the early days and I always found a way of making school projects something to do with cars too!"
When did you buy this car?
"I bought Murray in August 2016"
Why did you buy this car?
"I already had a Discovery 300TDi, then I bought an earlier TD5 but I really wanted to find a lower mileage one with a better chassis."
Why did you call Murray, Murray?
"Because he is Wimbledon Green so, is named after Andy Murray."
What changes have you made to the car since you bought it?
"There have been lots! It has had a live tuning stage 2 remap, with an EGR delete. Straight through exhaust with stainless steel backbox. It has a 2-inch lift with springs and shocks on the front and lift blocks on the rear air suspension. Wheels and tyres have been changed from 18 to 16 with 235-85 General Grabber AT3 tyres. It has split charge with a second battery for additional lights and powering USB points. It has had a full Dinitrol chassis treatment as well as some other rust-proofing. Inside, it has a DAB radio, SatNav and screen with reversing camera, custom built storage drawers in the boot. The two rear seats have been removed also, taking it from a seven seater to a five seater. New black headlining. North American spec cupholders. The centre console wood trim painted red, Discovery 3 gear knob and heated front screen. Tuffrok mudflaps, custom built sidesteps and a genuine half-size Land Rover roofrack and door ladder. There is also a light bar, spotlight and light guards all round as well as LED lights in the bumper. And along the way, any nut and bolt that I have had to change are now stainless steel. I think that's everything..."
Who would you recommend this car to?
"Somebody with a very large bank balance and lots of patience! But also anyone who is interested in an interesting and different all-round car that attracts attention. However, they do have their quirks so would have to be aware of that too!"
What is your favourite thing about the car?
"I like the fact it doesn't look like your modern eurobox car and people look at you when you drive it!"
Would you ever sell Murray?
"I have no plans to sell him at the moment."
I think it is pretty safe to say that Murray won't be going anywhere anytime soon and will continue to rumble his way up and down our road for many years to come!
Thank you to Dad for taking the time for the interview and for letting Jake drive his car! And thank you to you, for reading this and if you haven't already, check out the review by simply clicking on the video below!
